When is a Scarf Not a Scarf?
When it’s a duster-length vest that you can make without sewing a stitch, then transform – PRESTO – right back into a scarf. It’s a great look to up-level your pandemic uniform of jeans and a tee into a stylish look for patio dining out. Here’s how to do it …
Start with a large, soft scarf – I like 72×40-44″ gauze-y ones. Fold it in half crosswise, per the diagram below.
Along one edge, bring together the 2 loose corners (B) and the fold point (A). Secure them with a small square knot.
Open out the crosswise edges to reveal to “armholes” and a halter neckline in back, like this:
Isn’t that just FUN! And what a great addition to any travel wardrobe. Here’s a quick sampling of our new scarves that can be used this way. Check out the full assortment HERE.
Which ones are the right colors for your wardrobe?
Nancy–This is genius! None of my scarves are 44 inches wide, but there’s plenty of fabric available for purchase. Looks like a trip to the sewing shop is in my future–i already have lots of thread but might need some more slender sewing machine needles. Can’t wait to try this out as an update to my travel wardrobe.–Anne
