Totally Taupe
As COVID restrictions move many brunettes away from coloring their hair – allowing unpigmented strands to mix in – they find the overall softening effect moves their Key Wardrobe Neutral from the previous Chocolate Brown or Soft Black toward Taupe. Now that’s a very sophisticated Neutral, but not always an easy one to find. I can help …
JJill just introduced a collection of separates in a beautiful Taupe shade (that they inexplicably call “Cocoa”). Here’s a sampling, including scarves and fashion jewelry in a mix of taupe and palest pink.
Many of JJill’s accent colors have a smoky tone that is especially compatible with Taupe too.
Taupe accessories can be tough to find, but here is a beautiful shoe – “Denise” pump by Corso Como – from DSW that hits the right color note, looks a bit sexy and is still surprisingly comfortable.
And a beautiful textured leather Commodious Tote from Slowlinebags.com. Sized to hold notebooks, folders or even an iPad plus all the day’s necessities. (The tote is a lighter shade than the shoe.)
Need a comfort shoe instead or in addition? Check out Jemy Flat, Paulina Loafer, Nebula Mule, Kellye Loafer, or Liliana Loafer. Note, I have not seen these shoes in person to check exact colors.
From our own online shop, here are some beautiful scarves – all very limited quantities – that can accent Taupe combinations:
Blush Poppies Brick Red Floral Abstract Animal
And for the sewing enthusiasts among you – these options from our online fabric collection:
Med-Taupe Ponte shown with Taupe/Blush Floral Jersey. and with Taupe Animal Jersey
Have fun shifting your wardrobe in this sophisticated new direction.
