This fully reversible tweed jacket – part of the 10-Piece Capsule Wardrobe I just finished sewing up for the PatternReview.com contest – is admittedly one of a kind. If you had something like that, you’d obviously know it. I just wanted to brag on myself. if you must know. So here it is:

But the reversible you are much more likely to have on hand is a knit shell or tank with different neckline depths or shapes front and back. As long as the fabric is stretchy enough to shape over your bustline without darts, you can reverse it front-to-back and have alternative necklines like this, to accommodate a variety of over-layer styles and a range of necklace shapes.
