More Print Mixing Thoughts

My long-time friend and colleague Ann Gosch — she headed the education department at Bernina back when I had the same role at Baby Lock — shared a couple of her print-mix projets that I think you’ll enjoy seeing …

She wrote:

I had so much fun with the collage shirt. I had the “tribal” print in my stash from long ago, but after I let my hair go natural during the pandemic (now bright silver), the print was too blah on me. Thus adding the black and the red up near my face for some good contrast.

For the next collage blouse, I’ll combine just three rayon prints rather than four, with the dots as the body of the blouse. I think I’ll do the lavender/orchid batik as the sleeves, and the ditzy print for the collar, band and cuffs, in Pati Palmer’s pattern Butterick 6856.

Love the way she spliced in some brighter elements to the soft, rosy print to match her newly brightened coloring!  If you have projects of your own to share, I’d love to see and hear about them.
