You know that frustrating thing when the “perfect” necklace for an outfit doesn’t quite work with the shape of the neckline? It can be surprisingly easy to modify. I loved this golden-oldie strand of teal and black beads to link my teal top to black leggings, but its length wasn’t right to fit into the neck opening. Doubling it seemed like the logical solution, but that still wasn’t short enough …
So I folded it in half and in half again and looped a 6″ extender through the folded ends and – PRESTO – choker styling and a more dense presentation of the colored beads in the bargain.
You can use the same extender to make a too-short necklace longer. Just attach the clasp of the extender to the loop end of the necklace and the clasp of the necklace to the loop of the extender.
Extenders are just $5 and available in gold or silver HERE.
