Let's start this discussion with a glance backward at our brown and camel grouping. If we add a pair of casual pants -- brown or camel corduroy jeans, for example - they'll work with every single combination of tops that the dressier pant does. And give us a whole added level of relaxed chic.
Now for a glance forward. Let's add another neutral Core Four - this time in a warm navy. My photo is missing the skirt, but I'll trust your imagination on that one.

Of course you could add navy shoes and even a navy handbag to accessorize this new Core. But since our imaginary client has dark brown hair, I really like the dark brown accessories -- less expected and more sophisticated.
The all-navy options and the two Inside Columns and two Outside Columns are undoubtedly obvious to you by now.
The camel pieces mix with the navy pieces using a couple of accessory Links -- a necklace with warm metals and navy stones, and a small scarf with wavy stripes in navy, camel, cream and periwinkle blue.

Since both of our new Links include periwinkle blue, this peri draped sweater is another obvious addition. And the Links also tie in the brown shoes and bag.

And in fact, the same Links tie the peri sweater back to the brown and camel Core Fours in dozens of ways.

But ... back to the new navy Core:
I'm not a big fan of pairing the navy with the previous turquoise pieces. But it mixes beautifully with the brick red sweater pair and the dusty coral sweater set, as you see below. And can't you see the navy bottoms with the camel shell and the red cardigan? Or the red shell and the camel jacket? The beat goes on ... and on ... and on.
In these combos I'd really prefer a navy shoe - what do you think? And the navy/coral needs a link that I haven't found yet. Like Rome, a totally integrated wardrobe isn't built in a day.

So here's what's now in our closet:
Dark brown cardigan, shell, pant, skirt ... and maybe corduroy jeans.
Camel short-sleeved jacket, shell, pant and skirt
Turquoise unlined jacket and camisole (twin tops)
Animal print blouse and skirt (2-piece dress)
That's the original 12 pieces.
Then we added a print shirt to wear as an over-layer or an under-layer...
Two more twin top sets -- brick red and dusty coral.
Navy blazer, shell, pant and skirt
Twenty-two garments in all ... plus the all-important links pictured below ... and more outfits than most of us could posibly need.
Next week we'll summarize the guidelines that will help you have a similar result in your own closet without being tied to any specific formula.
